Fall 2021 Faculty Fellows Program

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce a call for proposals for the Fall 2021 CIL Faculty Fellows Program. The Fall 2021 CIL Faculty Fellows Program is designated for faculty members teaching during the Fall semester and would like to improve their courses by employing effective teaching and learning methods through novel educational technologies and high impact pedagogies.

The CIL Faculty Fellows Program is the core of the CIL. It offers its faculty members the opportunity to enhance their teaching and become active members of the LAU teaching community. The program starts with a structured 4-week program in which a faculty member will design a new course or redesign a current course using state of the art methodologies with the aim of improving the student learning experience. For example, a faculty may convert a course to online/blended delivery according to these guidelines, design a new course, redesign an existing course, explore new active learning strategies, apply the latest disciplinary research into teaching, or explore the use of technology in the teaching process. The program includes a series of webinars/seminars from external and internal entities, mentoring support from the current CIL Faculty Fellows, and assistance from undergraduate and graduate students in instructional design in addition to the normal CIL services.

Upon the successful completion of the program and the delivery of the proposed tasks, the faculty member may join the CIL Faculty Fellows and may be invited to leadership and service opportunities within the CIL. Currently the CIL Fellows are leading workshops, seminars, and potentially program consultations.

The mission of the CIL is to support faculty development, promote innovative pedagogical initiatives, enhance excellence in teaching effectiveness, and facilitate engagement in student learning.
